Swiss Porsche 996 Turbo Tearing Up the Paul Ricard Circuit

A customer of ours from Switzerland sent us this photo of his Porsche 996 Turbo making laps around the F1 training facility of the Circuit de Paul Ricard. This is one tough track and having driven it on the 2004 Gumball 3000, his newly modded Porsche should have no problems. So what made him go faster around the circuit? A lot of suspension and braking components. He added the GT3 6piston brakes with Brembo 2pc rotors. A complete set of Agency Power rear control arms, toe links, and sway bar links helped dial in the handling. He also added a Quaife LSD to improve the power delivery to the pavement. To keep his turbos running efficiently, this customer also installed some Agency Power silicone boost hoses and f-hose. Yet another globally satisfied customer! One Guy, an STi, and his Agency Power DIY…

No, I’m not working on rhymes for my audition tape to next seasons P. Diddy’s Starmaker, I finished those a while ago.
What I am working on is an introduction to a Guy, with an STi, and his blog. I was having a hard time finding a good rhyme for “blog”, so I went in anther direction. And now that I think about it, I haven’t heard back from any MTV exec’s yet. Maybe this rhyming thing isn’t really working for me…

Anyways, in case you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a big fan of the DIY. There’s nothing more exciting than a box full of brand new Agency Power parts, and it doesn’t get any more gratifying than knowing it was your hard work that’s making all the difference.

I think this guy knows what I’m talking about.

Cooler than the rest! – Agency Power Intercooler for 135i/335i COMING SOON!

Ok, so maybe that pun was intentional, but you gotta admit that it’s a pretty good one.
With lower intake temperatures improving boost efficiency, and striking good looks tucked behind the OEM front bumper, you’re running “cooler” no matter how you look at it.
See how I tied that all together?!?!

We all know that the majority of OEM intercoolers are most efficient at stock horsepower levels and under what the manufacturer would consider “normal” driving conditions. Our goal is to provide an upgrade that will improve efficiency and performance as you increase the horsepower of your vehicle and expose it to spirited driving, on-road and at the track.

What you may not have known, all Agency Power intercoolers are application specific, with significant on-road and dynamometer testing to ensure optimum performance for each vehicle model.The selection of the core is important in two aspects: One is to select a dimension that will allow for maximum surface area and cooling via ambient airflow to the intercooler. The second is to optimize the internal flow area to ensure minimal loss in boost pressure while still allowing for the desired CFM. After the engineering and testing ensures the proper core sizing, it’s on to the design of end tanks, and fabrication and selection of all necessary bracketry, piping and silicone.

It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who gets a little excited by the sound of a delivery truck, followed by a firm knock on the door.

“Sign here” said the man in the brown polyester shorts, followed by the predictable request for “Last name, please?”

“Nickel…just put Nickel” replied the happy new owner of this Agency Power cat back exhaust and downpipe.

996TT gets Agency-Power front carbon lip.

He likes it, he really really likes it!

And how could anyone not?

It’s carbon fiber, it’s made in the USA, it fits like a glove, and it’s a DIY install.

I personally can’t think of a better way to spend a day than installing some brand new carbon fiber, taking it on the road, and showing it off to other tuner fans. And that’s exactly what this customer had the chance to do.

“Very easy, and extremely surprised about the fitment, like a glove.”
“Total time of 10 minutes, no hardware, used the factory screws.”
After his install he had a chance to take it up to speed on the highway and even “had to put a 335i and STi in their place“.

I have a feeling though, that the 335i and STi may have only had a quick glimpse of this Agency Power front lip in their rear view mirror as this 2002 996TT made his way past them.

No worries though, here’s some close up shots that aren’t going anywhere…

K&N built a full Time Attack Mitsubishi EVO IX to compete in the racing series across the western USA. In addition, this car was just recently shot for one of the big tuner magazines which will be released this month. Agency Power provided K&N with a set of rear adjustable control arms for their EVO IX. Many of the Agency Power turbo kits and intakes use the K&N product for its performance, reliability, and reputation.
